Climate change—formerly known as global warming—has been a dominant topic in world discourse. But when did it really explode into the massive issue it is now? At what point did the science community, activists, and global powers unite to say something had to be done, and that we were all to blame?
Much of the momentum traces back to the release of "An Inconvenient Truth." That documentary seemed to jumpstart a movement, especially among the youth. I believe the real traction came once the message reached academic circles. It always seems to start there—teachers and professors, most of whom lean liberal, are the ones who pass down ideas that become the next generation’s belief system.
Once academia picks something up, it spreads fast. And now, with social media, information—and ideology—can be transferred to millions in an instant.
But here’s the real question: even if we agree climate change is real, is it man-made? That’s the dividing line. Are today’s environmental problems caused by human behavior, or is something bigger at play? Something natural—or even biblical?
I bring this up because I was watching The Jimmy Dore Show, and they mentioned something I’ve heard for years: Antarctica and the Arctic are actually regaining ice. For a long time, scientists were warning us that the poles were melting at unprecedented rates. But now it seems, in some areas, there's more ice than usual.
And this isn’t the first time climate predictions haven’t come true. Let me show you just a few times these activist scientists have been wrong. Skip through if you get my point!
Climate Predictions vs. Reality: A Retrospective
1. Prediction: Arctic Ocean Ice-Free by 2014
In 2009, former Vice President Al Gore predicted that the Arctic Ocean would be ice-free by 2014.
Outcome: As of 2025, the Arctic still retains significant sea ice coverage, with seasonal variations but no complete melt observed.
2. Prediction: Global Famine Due to Climate Change by 2000
In the 1970s, some scientists warned of widespread famine resulting from climate-induced agricultural failures by the year 2000.
Outcome: While food insecurity remains a global issue, advancements in agricultural technology and practices have prevented the predicted mass famines.
3. Prediction: New Ice Age Imminent by 2000
A 1970 Boston Globe article reported that scientists predicted a new ice age within 30 years.
Outcome: Instead of cooling, global average temperatures have risen, contradicting the earlier prediction.
4. Prediction: Giant Sand Dunes to Overtake the Plains
In 1990, it was predicted that sand dunes from Colorado's Front Range could transform the High Plains into a desert within 20 to 50 years due to climate change.
Outcome: The High Plains have not experienced such desertification, and the predicted sand dune movement has not occurred.
5. Prediction: Five Billion People to Face 'Entirely New Climate' by 2050
A 2013 study suggested that by 2050, up to five billion people would experience climates entirely different from historical norms.
Outcome: As of 2025, while climate patterns have shifted in some regions, the drastic changes affecting billions have not yet shown much of any progress.
6. Prediction: Global Warming to Halt by 2007
In 1999, some scientists predicted a cooling trend, suggesting that the Earth would experience global cooling by 2007.
Outcome: Global temperatures have continued to rise, with recent years being among the warmest on record.
7. Prediction: Antarctic Ice Mass to Continue Declining
It was widely believed that Antarctic ice mass would continue to decrease due to global warming.
Outcome: Recent studies have shown a record-breaking increase in Antarctic ice mass from 2021 to 2023, challenging previous assumptions.
8. Prediction: Cities Like Hornsby to Be Submerged
Some climate projections indicated that elevated suburbs like Hornsby would be underwater due to rising sea levels.
Outcome: These areas remain above sea level, and the predicted submersion has not occurred.
9. Prediction: Global Cooling Due to Aerosols
In the early 1970s, some scientists predicted that increased aerosol emissions would lead to global cooling.
Outcome: Subsequent research corrected this view, recognizing that greenhouse gas emissions have a more significant warming effect.
10. Prediction: Climate Models Accurately Predicting Warming
Some early climate models underestimated the rate and impact of global warming.
Outcome: Later assessments found that while some models were accurate, others failed to predict the severity of climate impacts, leading to ongoing refinements in climate modeling.
Here’s my point: when you go through these scenarios, a pattern starts to emerge. Scientists talk in extremes, they get funding, and we go almost nowhere. Meanwhile, the wealthy keep buying beachfront properties, and insurance companies keep selling them coverage. If they really believed the seas were going to rise from melting polar caps, would that still be happening? These are signs that even they don’t buy the narrative.
But let’s switch gears. God also uses extremism, but not for grants or power. He does it to show His power in action, and to make Himself known to the unbeliever. He lets people act, lets ideas spread, lets fear run wild (like the scientists)… except He really does step in and flips narratives.
He did it with Gideon, when He chose just 300 men for battle against overwhelming odds. God intentionally reduced the army—starting with 32,000 men and cutting them down first to 10,000, and then to just 300. Why? Because He didn’t want Israel to think their victory came from their own strength. He wanted it crystal clear that it was His hand that delivered them. That’s how God works—He puts His people in situations that seem impossible so that when the outcome flips, there’s no denying it was Him. He uses the extreme to prove the divine. It’s not about comfort; it’s about recognition. When God moves, He leaves no room for coincidence.
Judges 7:2 (KJV):
"And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me."
Judges 7:5 (KJV):
“So he brought the people down to the water: and the Lord said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself.”
Judges 7:6-7 (KJV):
"And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.
And the Lord said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand..."
Judges 7:22 (KJV):
"And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the Lord set every man's sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host..."
He also said He’d do it again in the end times—at Megiddo, when the world abandons Israel and God crushes the opposition so soundly that no one can deny His presence:
“I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem… Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations.” — Zechariah 14:2-3
That’s not just about politics or armies—it’s about showing the world who really runs it.
And here in the Bible, God makes it clear that He controls the weather:
“For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’; likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength. He seals the hand of every man, that all men may know His work.” — Job 37:6-7
So maybe this sudden shift from “it’s too hot” to “now it’s too cold” is more than science can explain.
Let us go back a little bit. Scientists used to push the greenhouse effect like it was toilet paper during the Covid-19 lockup days. But when things didn’t add up, they rebranded it “climate change”—a phrase that conveniently covers everything (a real eyeroller). That way, they’re never really wrong. This is basic psychology: cover all the bases so you can always claim you were right.
With Antarctica defying them, they will no doubt say that the increase in Antarctic ice is still part of climate change. But again, it raises the question—do they really know what’s going on? Or is this just a moneymaker?
Because let’s be honest: this is big business. From government grants to carbon credits, to green energy contracts—climate change is profitable.
Here’s a fact: in Glacier National Park, signs once warned that the glaciers would be gone by 2020. They were installed in the early 2000s. But by 2019, the glaciers were still there—and the signs were quietly removed or changed. They now read:
“When they will completely disappear depends on how and when we act. One thing is consistent: the glaciers in the park are shrinking.”

Blah. Blah. Blah.
When things like that happen, it’s fair to question whether the predictions are rooted in truth—or just theatrics.
And this is why I always ask, who benefits? Why push climate change in the schools, the laws, and international treaties? What’s the real reason? Because we are living in deceitful times. People say one thing, but behind the curtain, they’re doing another.
Here’s what we know: Over the last 35+ years, the U.S. has spent hundreds of billions on climate change. Under the Inflation Reduction Act alone, it’s estimated that more than $500 billion will be spent over the next decade. The UN? They’ve pledged over $100 billion a year to developing countries to fight climate change.
And what do we have to show for it? Greenhouse gases are still rising. Wild predictions didn’t pan out. And the weather still does what it’s always done—change.
But if the weather does eventually take a violent or irreversible turn, maybe it won’t be from our daily habits—but from reckless experiments we’ve tried to play God with. I’m talking about geoengineering. Cloud seeding. Stratospheric aerosol injection. Governments and private groups are tampering with the skies, trying to “fix” the climate like it’s a machine they fully understand.
But these are not solutions—they're high-risk gambles that could backfire on the entire planet. We're altering ecosystems, changing rainfall patterns, and even risking droughts or floods in regions that had stability for centuries. All in the name of science and control.
These actions aren’t just dangerous—they’re sinful. It’s the Tower of Babel all over again. Just like in Genesis, mankind once again thinks it can rise up, take charge of the heavens, and replace God’s authority with its own. But when we forget who created the world—and start thinking we can run it ourselves—we invite judgment. God scattered the people of Babel and confused their tongues because they tried to ascend into His domain. Today, our version of that tower is built with chemicals and satellites, but the arrogance is the same. And we know how that story ends.
Here in the Bible, it says this about the last days:
“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring.” — Luke 21:25
And again:
“And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.” — Revelation 16:8
We were told there would be heat. We were told there would be distress. And yet, the world tries to explain it all away with “climate change,” removing the divine from the equation.
But we can’t ignore it. Jesus also said:
“There shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in diverse places.” — Matthew 24:7
That’s not just a coincidence. These things aren’t happening in a vacuum—they’re signs.
There’s even a prophecy that speaks directly to the unveiling of lies:
“For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither anything hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.” — Luke 8:17
We’re watching that unfold in real time. COVID lies. Failing climate predictions. Political corruption. The truth is surfacing—and that’s biblical.
So let me ask you now—who's really in control of climate change? Scientists tell us it’s all on us, yet they rarely explain how cosmic forces—like solar flares, shifts in Earth’s magnetic field, or even planetary alignments—impact our climate. But if the answer is that God is in charge, then maybe we are to blame after all—not because of our carbon footprint, but because of our sin...
Until next time, God bless.
